Hello, a friend is interested in buying a D5200 body as a reasonably priced video capable Nikon. Can anyone tell me whether there is a limit on the duration of a HD full res. video. Other than the capacity of the card itself, I mean. Thanks for your help.
Many thanks for your replies. It would be interesting to know whether once the allowed duration expires one can immediately start a new 20 or 29 minute sequence without a shutdown possibly caused by overheating.
You can push the record button immediately after each 20-29 minutes Video segment. It should do well over one hour without overheating unless outside in the Sun on a hot day. I generally try to take all my photos with the sun at the back and my body shading the camera anyway. And on a hot day I will be under some kind of shade if only an umbella.
