'The Green Line of Death'? for display ...I hope not

I've been happily playing with my used D5100 for a week or so now. Everything was fine. I mean, apart from the way it blows my D2X away 8>/

Anyway, today I noticed a fine green vertical line running from top to bottom of the LCD display, about 12mm from the right side. It's always there, whenever the screen is powered up, over-writing whatever mode the display is in.

Kind of a bummer 8>/

Has anyone seen or heard of this fault? Any suggestions?

thanks
D2xer

Camera or not, this type of problem points to the LCD controller.

The good news is that if you can ignore it, it doesn't affect the pictures.

Yes, I know it only affects the display. I'd try to ignore it, as I only paid $300 for the body. But only if I could be sure it wasn't a sign of worse to come. I still have a day or two left to return it.

thanks

Thanks. Yeah, I did. It's being repaired free of charge under the 30-day store warranty. It'll be a few weeks before get it back. No problem doing without it for as long as it takes - after all, I have D2x 8>)
