"5100 shutter lock-up"

US

My 5100 locked up on me. When I removed the lens, I saw the mirror was hung on the right side. After a lost day of shooting, probably the tenth time I tried it, it began working.

It is only three months old. Is this something that is a Nikon repair issue, or a glitch due to a tiny bit of something hanging it up?

THANKS! I'm on a cruise!!

I would send it to Nikon Service when you get back and explain the problem. Unless you dropped or otherwise damaged the camera it should be covered under warranty.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

Best Regards,
Marty

To be sure what was the issue, I would send/bring it to a Nikon service.
