"Manual Function"

IN

I am learning to use the D5000 which I inherited from my older brother.
Its 2 years old. Even in the manual mode, the settings keep on changing from 1 shot to another. As a result, I am unable to shoot continuously as I have to go back to the previous photograph to look at its settings and readjust them in Manual mode.
Is this a firmware problem? if so, how do i rectify it?
Thanks...

Hi Kos,

Welcome to Nikonians!
I suspect that you have the Bracketing function turned On.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

Best Regards,
Marty

Hi Marty
Gosh I feel so stupid.
Thanks. I switched off the bracketing function and the camera immediately stopped adjusting settings.
I was scared I might have to get a firmware restore.

regards...
Kos
