Back-button focus doesn't work on my D5100
When Custom Function "f2:Assign AE-L/AF-L Button" is set to AF-ON, the AE-L/AF-L button DOES NOT initiate autofocus, but it is supposed to.
Can someone help me with this? I like use back-button focus with the camera on a tripod.

Did you verify that the camera is in Single Servo AF (AF-S), Continuous (AF-C) mode, or AF-A AF mode?
Did you press the OK button after setting Custom Setting f2 to AF-ON?
What exposure mode are you using?
If you are using P,A,S, or M exposure modes, the AF-ON button should work.
If you are using Auto or one of the Scene modes, I think some of the custom settings are ignored.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
