"Looking for helpful D5100, D5000, D3100, D3000 owners"

Vancouver (WA USA not Canada), US

In anticipation of wanting to compare whatever new DX camera Nikon may announce from the viewpoint of sensor capabilities I find I lack sufficient D5100, D5000, D3100, and D3000 (and others!) data.
(Probably due to my "sabbatical" from Nikonians )

It isn't too painful (unless you think a few actuations is going to kill you).

It's a slight plus if you have access to a PC rather than being strictly a Mac person.

It's a slight plus if you have access to FTP or other way to exchange large files.
(Many people use www.yousendit.com or Dropbox to send me files.)

In any case, if you care to help then contact me by email so there will be no duplication of effort.

What do you need? I own a D3000 and use on a MacBook Pro Intel i7 2.8 Ghz. 8GB Memory. I have Nikon's on Nikon Transfer/ViewNX2 Package, iPhoto fro Apple, Kodak EasyShare, and even Photoshop.

I am more a Photo Hobbyist. So I would be help telling you what aperture and shutter sped to set 500 mm lens for taking a picture of Race care going full tilt.

Simple problems I might be able to deal with. IF I am familiar with them.

Just to add that this is technical data gathered from rather uninteresting test shots.

Interesting ... 4 of the 6 cameras for which I have no data are the D5100, D5000, D3100, and D3000.
It's dry technical stuff, but usually someone shows some interest!

You have another to dig up info on RITZ camera has been Advertising Pre-Orders for D800 and D800e (2995.99 and 3295.99) supposed to be a 36 MegaPixel sensor camera. Supposed to be able to take poster size photos. (at that price it ought be able to cook you three meals a day.)

I can send you a PDF of the USER Manual for the D3000 I can share it on Dropbox but will need a email address to set up the share if you interested?

Phillip,

Thanks for your willingness to help.
I already have a full set of Nikon User Manuals.

But I'm still looking for sensor data from people willing to take specific test images.

Regards,
Bill

I'm willing to take some test shots with my D5100. (I would email as instructed, but my membership level isn't high enough.)
