There is a UK review at http://www.ephotozine.com/article/nikon-d5100-digital-slr-review-16109 Some of the menu options such as the ability to create a HDR image by merging 2 exposures, to convert to B&W whilst retaining one colour and to shoot at 104,000 in B&W look interesting. Maybe soon all new advanced DSLR's will include a HDR facility.
Photography is a bit like archery. A technically better camera, lens or arrow may not hit the target as often as it could if the photographer or archer does not practice enough.
