"D5000 for IR?"

Metro Atlanta, US

I converted a D100 to IR only some time ago. I shoot a lot of IR landscapes, but the D100 is only a 6MP camera. while even 12 MP does not give me that much more resolution, it would give me enough to make 24x36" prints pretty comfortably.

My question is if anyone has had their D5000 converted to IR only. With the hot filter removed, does the D5000 sensor capture IR images well?

One of the reasons why I am interested in purchasing and converting a D5000 is due to the positionable screen. A big potential drawback from shooting IR using the screen with LV is accurately view the scene. I am just not sure how well this would work with IR. If anyone has any experience in either of these areas, please let me know.

thanks!
