"D3100 Bracketing?"

For those of you who like to bracket our exposures, what have you found to be the best way to do so on the D3100, since it has no auto bracketing?
Use the exposure compensation button and the dial? Or is there a better way?

I'm looking at the 3100 as a (relatively) light weight travel and family shoot camera, but I'm spoiled by the auto bracketing on my D200 ... . I find bracketing a simple and viable way to ensure good exposures w.o. having to resort to UniWB.

Of course, a firmware update for the 3100 would be the best solution ... .

As always, many thanks.
