Hi Folks;

After resetting some menu items I found after depressing the shutter release that the viewfinder window remains black until I release the shutter button. After going through all the menu items that seemed to apply, I called Nikon. The rep said he had never heard of the problem and had me reset all to the defaults. The viewfinder window then showed the view (was not black) after the shot without having to release the shutter button. Super.

Made a few changes to the menus - ITS BAAACK. Has anyone else encountered this problem and do you know what menu item or combination causes this to happen? This happens with several different lenses on the D3100.

Thanks, Jim
