I have had my D5000 for about 2 weeks and am new with SLRs. The list of compatible lenses is very helpful as I have already had to return one lens which was not.

My question is are there compatible teleconverters for the D5000 which will be compatible for AF? I am looking for a 2x or 1.7x. Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Welcome to Nikonians!
Be Aware that many lenses are not compatible with Teleconverters!
With some lenses, if you mount a TC on them and zoom in or out the rear element of the lens can crash into the front element of the TC destroying both in the process.
Fill in the Equipment tab in your User Profile, and or list the lenses you plan on using the TC with.
