"Saving a picture that is zoomed in."

Hi...I have a D5000 & I recently shoot some pictures of a bald eagle in flight.Using the zoom feature on the camera can I save a picture in the zoomed in state & transfer it that way to my computer or have it printed as such? I also have Nikon transfer & Nikon nx but at this point I cannot figure out how to save retouched photos or pictures that are altered to my liking. Yes I am new to D-SLR's.

Hi Alan,

Welcome to Nikonians!
You can use the in camera Retouch menu (see pages 174-189 in the D5000 Users Manual)in the camera to resize or crop the image using the trim function (page 177).
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
