"Nikon School"

Well, my last question didn't generate any exitement (0 responses), so let me try again. I just signed up for the Nikon School "Introduction to Digital SLR Photography". I'm not new to photography, but have been out of any serious (if I was ever considered serious) stuff for a long time. My last good camera (a Pentax ME Super) quit working probably 10 years ago. It's been automatic 35mm and P&S digitals since then. So I figure I need to start over.

So, my question is, has anyone done these classes? The PDF they sent to prepare looks very good, and looks like it will cover just the things I want to learn/relearn.

Well, I don't know anything about your question, but I don't want to let you down with not having any responses...LOL. I'm interested in taking a class/School. Is this something you're traveling to do, or is it a class on the computer? Let me know as I might be interested.

I've been to a number of Nikon Schools and I think it's a terrific program. Of course I've been one of the instructors for 17 years, so maybe I'm biased, , but I think you will get answers to many of your questions, and even some questions you didn't know you had. You won't get everything you want to know in one day; there's a limit to what anyone can absorb in one sitting, but you'll get a good start and maybe some idea of what direction to head in for continued learning. I hope to see you there. bd

This is the school. I'm going to the one in Dallas. I'm in Houston, but I waited to long to sign up...it was sold out:

I attended this school a couple of years ago and it was very useful and a lot of fun.

It may have been Bill and Nick Didlick and they were informative and handed out a lot of basic information that you can immediately apply. Also, meeting up with others with similar interests in your area can be a resource down the line.

More than anything you can see up close what can be done and that inspiration alone is worth the day.

The Nikon school is excellent. I attended it a couple years ago. The instructors are very knowledgeable and give practical, hands-on advice and do demonstrations. You signed up for the intro class. I bet after you've been there, you will also want to attend the "Next steps" class which is also superb.
