"Just bought a new D3000"

DAle City, US

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I just bought a new D3000 at Costco
on Friday, 18 Dec 2009 ($629) just before the big NE
snowstorm. This was a Costco kit that included the normal
18-55mm kit, items also included were: 55-200mm VR lens, a 4GB
SDcard, 100 free prints from Costco 2 instruction DVDs and a
Nikon camera bag. So far the wife and I are learning the new
DSLR system. I'm a pass user going back 31 years working with
Minolta SLR cameras (SRT-202 and XGM. I took most of my photos
overseas while in the Army. With the move from 35mm film to
digital I've been using a 7 year old Sony DCS-P30 (1mp) and
last year a Kodak M1033 10mp camera.

I'm planning on working the camera out when traveling to
Germany next spring. Looking forward to learning the DSLR
system and taking great pictures.

 Thanks,

Jim

Remember to keep that stinkin bag clipped closed when you're carrying the camera inside it. It's kind of a rolly-polly bag and it flipped upside down on me two days ago. Camera tumbled out onto cobblestones and now the lens won't move back and forth (lost telephoto capability). So ticked!!
Good luck!
