"Great room remodel"

Lakeville, US

D3 14-24mm 9 exposure HDR processed with Photomatix and Photoshop CS6
White balance was set to 2750 with Adobe Camera Raw.
I then lowerd the saturation of both the cyan and blue to remove the blue color that was in the windows and the reflection on the cabinets and coffee table. I also lowered the yellow saturation to make the ceiling look more natural. I then brightened the image using curves and added contrast using the levels control.

Very well done Larry. Can I just check with you on your workflow?
Do you....?

NEF >> ACR - adjust white balance on all 9 images - any other ACR adjustments? >> Photomatix HDR merge and adjustments >> CS6 further adjustments like saturation you mentioned.

Is that the route you take?

I understand your point about the ceiling as I have noted that ceilings seem to have a tendency towards yellow.

Bottom line, this looks very nice and thoroughly professional.

Derek

Hi Derek

The only adjustment I make in camera raw is the white balance. I prefer to make the other adjustments in Photoshop. I open the images in camera raw using bridge so I can batch process the white balance. I took 14 different images at this shoot. Where the scenes had the same light sources, I set the white balance the same. Some of the scenes had almost no exterior light so I did those separately.

Thanks Larry. That all makes sense. Presumably you export from ACR as 16-bit tiffs.

Hi Larry,
Great shot. I felt like there was some distortion that PS could correct. I cranked in a lot of horizontal adjustment and the result appealed to me a little more.

Thanks Bob.
It does look a little better. Now I would have to recover the corners.
