the far end of the photo was very bright. IN the original image, I didn't see the detail of the far top building (horiz lines or building itself) and there was great glare on the walkway.

It was about 6:15 pm - sundown about 7:45 - and the building wall was facing east - looking north. F6.3 at about 72mm on ff body, iso 500 at 1/160. I use single spot metering and metered for the wall so I would get the detail - and hoped for the ribs of the ceiling, but expected the top to be blown out. And I had hope after looking at the histogram and changed it to bw in aperture.

It is a single frame hdr using Nik hdrefex and using the upoints to help bring out the detail in the floor and to show as much detail as possible in the 'lighter end' of the photo.

Bringing it back into Aperture, I burned a little more of the walkway and added some sepia tone.
