"HDR Efex Pro 2 demo"

Just downloaded and started trying this demo a few days ago, and so far am really liking it a lot. I think the interface is way better than Photomatix Pro, with a lot more control, so I'll probably be buying it.

Here's a quick shot I just did with D7000, Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VRII, hand-held, at 98mm, f/2.8m, ISO 400. Also, some Topaz Adjust filters were applied.

I like your photo very much.

I completely agree with you and already upgraded after spending a while using the demo download. As you, I had Photomatix and no longer utilize it because this program is far more robust and, IMO, preferable. Among the things I like the most about HDR Efex Pro 2 is that it can create the most realistic images, as well as artistic and surreal photos. Ease of use is high on my list; this hits the mark.

In the future I hope they come out with more than 28 presets or places I can import other presets. The first preset, Deep 1 and 2, and vignette are my favorites. As you are aware, their tutorials are an excellent source of education.

About a year ago I purchased the entire NIK suite from B & H. It made sense to go that way and for many still does. Without question, I am quite pleased with that decision. It is fair to say that I if I really like a photo, then I use some or many components of NIK. I consider it an awesome suite. Good luck. All the best.

Thanks, Edward!

Yes, I like deep 1 and 2 best, as well! I will be getting the paid version and saying goodbye to Photomatix. Overall, I prefer natural looking HDR.

Cheers!
