"D700 Replacement "

AU

Hi guys
Newly joined and I obviously have a D700. I shoot sports, mainly cars and bikes,do a lot of speedway as well. My D700 is well used and have looking for a replacement,or an addition to the 700.
The D800 while being a great body is not suitable for sports which only leaves the D4 ,a bit more than I wanted to pay.
Long winded but I was wondering if you guys have experience with the D3s and is it much of an upgrade from my D700. A second hand D3s in Australia is abt $3500 .
Thanks
Jeff

A D3s is a great sports camera and an upgrade from the D700 in terms of low light capabilities and burst rate. I think you would enjoy it.

Thanks Mick
Is the image quality the same? I seem to recall that the sensor is the same as the D700,is this correct?
The burst rate with the grip is similar 8fps.
If the only difference is the low light performance it maybe not what I will do .
Maybe I will just have to wait to see what Nikon come up with.

There are plenty of low usage D700's for sale in the US. Don't know about Down Under, but, if you can, why not just replace it? It's one hell of a camera and probably for a lot less than $3,500!
