"No image when using flash (SB600)"

Wrightsville Beach, US

Hi everyone: When using my SB600 and a SC-29 cord with the D700 I'm suddenly getting no image, just a blank black screen. The camera body and flash combo have been working together for over a year. How did I goof it up? Look forward to your responses! Thank you in advance!

Hmmmm....

What are your settings on the camera and flash?
Do you get an image with the the flash directly mounted to the hot shoe on the camera (no SC-29 cord)?
Do you get an image using the pop up flash fof the SB700?
Have you tried other CF Cards?

Hi Tom,

Is the SB-600 fully seated and locked in the SC-29 hotshoe?
Is the SC-29 fully seated and locked in the D700s hotshoe?
Is the Speedlight firing when you release the shutter?

Have you tried cleaning the electrical contacts on the SC-29, SB-600, and D700 hotshoe? It only takes a little oxidation to prevent the Speedlight from firing.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

Best Regards,
Marty

Hi: Thanks to Anthony, Marty & Timeshifte for your comments. I'm still working to correct the problem(s); have been called out of town on personal business so will use your suggestions in a few days. Tom.
