In my opinion its a great camera. Im still learning mine too at the same time getting my brain up to speed on what serious digital photography is all about.

I lucked out and got a brand new one about a month ago. I doubt anything about it will make me sorry for the choice.

I think you will enjoy it. Its good and solid and now that Im discovering more about the different controls it seems pretty sensibly laid out.

Good book and a good camera. I have had my D700 for only a short while but I love the camera. I now use my D7000 for birding and the D700 for just about everything else.

Great camera,I also picked up one up at a very reasonable price.It has a proven track record.I have tried the D600 and it just did not cut it for me. There are now many choices ,it does not always have to be a current model.

I have the D700 and a D300, the D300 is my every day camera and the D700 for low light and photo shoots.
The D700 is a great camera.

I too have a D300s and D700. Use the 700 for low light and wide angle work. The 300s is the everyday camera and can't be beat when I use my Sigma 150-500 for the extra reach. I also like sharing batteries, CF cards and the grip.
