Got a used D700 for a bargain. Very similar in features and controls to my D300. Great camera, works perfectly in everything I have tried except when set in manual mode, the +/- exposure indicator on the top LCD and the rear screen when set to info do not function. The indicator inside the viewfinder works fine and exposures seem to be accurate.

That bracketing thing will get you every time. I remember my test run of the brand new 24 1.4G with the D700. I was looking at the photos and could not believe it. One was good, but the other two just awful. I quit shooting ready to return this "turkey" of a lens. All in the sudden it dawned on me: maybe the bracketing is on. Sure enough! I started the shoot all over again - the lens is great!
