Hi,

Just lately I have been struggling with manuel mode, finding it takes ages for me to focus. The focus point is to one side in the viewfinder and I would like to move it around. When I turn my camera portrait way the focus point is towards the bottom so if I take a close up portrait the bottom is alot sharper than the top part.
I don't why I am struggling all of a sudden, I never used to !

I will be attending a portrait weekend where I will be taking lots close portraits in studio conditions and would like to be able to put this right before I go.

Sounds like you might have the focus lock turned on (ring around the "joystick" with the dot and L).

When using the joystick to move the focus point, the center button can be used to re-center it. You can also turn on the "wrap" feature which will allow you to move from the far left and reappear at the far right.
