"Help me decide on my D700 Upgrade"

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and selling the D300 and the 17-55. 18-200 VR, sigma 30mm

I currently have these other DX lenses also, 12-24 nikon, and 18-70mm(may keep with the D70 it came with)

My Full frames are 70-300G VR & 70-200 2.8 VR, 50mm 1.4
I currently have a budget of around $6000 or so for the FX lenses and the D700 so here's what I'm thinkging

BTW I love to shoot landscape and portraits

24-70 2.8
85mm 1.4
Tamron 28-300 VC (to replace 18-200 for walk-around)
Keep 12-24 for 18-24 range for wideangle
Question is Is the 12-24 a decent lens for the D700?
Or what about this?

Sell 12-24 and forget about the walk-around for now?

I would definitely go for the second option. I had the 12-24 on my D700 for some time, and it's not worth it. The 14-24mm is a world apart.

Just went through this myself... The 12-24 is DX only so no good for the D700.

I went with the 17-35 2.8 and the 24-70 2.8. For my walk-around I use a plastic 28-200 from my N80.
