"D700 Owner...Looking at D3"

I have an opportunity to purchase a D3 from a friend. I currently have a D700 and D300. I'm looking for feedback on whether the D3 is going to add enough extras to my "tool bag" to warrant the expense. Significant improvements in IQ and/or low light shooting capabilities are two reasons I would consider making the purchase. I consider myself an enthusiastic amatuer photographer and am willing to pay for quality gear. I shoot mostly landscape and wildlife, but like to dabble in almost anything. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone that has experience with both the D700 and D3. Thanks.
