"Help! ... Reading D700 NEF format?"


HI, US
          

This has to be incredibly simple, but with new D700, Bridge, NX, won't open the NEF files. JPG's ok. Must need some D700 ACR update for D700 or ??

Update to the current versions of ACR and NX, and you'll be fine.

Rick,

Update to the current versions of ACR

You cannot use the most recent versions of ACR unless you are running CS3.
For CS2 and prior users there are ways around this; I prefer using the free DNG converter with my copy of CS2.
(See NEF2ACR at my site.)
(You can also use D700Hack at my site to make them look like D3 files.)

Yep, that did it. Been too long since I upgraded Camera jumps (stunning results with D700 so far, by the way).

Upgrade to NX2 & ACR 4.5 apparently plugs it in everywhere - Bridge, CS3, NX2 read it.
