"D700--Digital F100? F6? Mini D3? or All Of The Above?"

US

I've had an F, FTN, F2, F3, N2000, N8008, D200 and a D3.

Never had an F6 or an F100, but keep reading about how people have been hoping for a "digital F100" or a "digital F6" or a "mini D3"

The D700 has arrived! So which is it

Digital F100

Digital F6

Mini D3

All Of The Above

???????

What say ye, O Nikonians!

Closer to an F6 than an F100 in most respects, I would say. So "digital F6" and "mini D3" probably fit the bill best. But, really, any comparison to other bodies has to drill into the details to be very meaningful. The D700 is in its own category.

To me it feels similar to an F6 with the a similar prism.
If you switch between the two there is almost no learning curve.

F6, D300, F3/T, FM2N
