"a silly question regarding the reflecting mirror of D700"
Sat 26-Jul-08 03:21 PM by Henry Joeng

Hong Kong, CN

Hi,

I just got mine D700 from my dealer in Hong Kong.
The camera is great, with picture quality more or less equal to D3, but the body build and the feeling of the shutter is certainly no match to the flagship model.

I noticed a faint horizontal mark (~2cm long) near the lower border of the reflecting mirror when looking in from the lens mount.

As the camera is brand new, I assume it may be due to the mirror hitting on the foam on top, when flipping up. But it seems that the position is not quite matching to that of the foam on top...

Any other D700 owner find the same faint mark on the mirror? I understand that it will have no bearing to the function of the camera at all, but I am just curious.

Regards

Henry from Hong Kong
