Only sad part about these pictures is the ownership of the camera: It was not mine
Here are the shots I was talking about ...partly sponsored by Bill Claff

All were shot with my old AF 20-35 f/2.8 Nikkor



Freakin ISO 25600 f/11 1/125 handheld: 100% crop no sharpening or curves applied.



Same shot full frame resized to upload and sharpened.




ISO 3200 f/22 1/500 handheld: 100% crop no sharpening or curves added



Same shot resized to upload, curves and sharpening applied - Now this is darn impressive for ISO 3200! As good as or slightly better than D200's ISO 400!!!


My oldest lens is 20-35! that's the reason I wanted to check it with D700 for CA

........300% crop:

CA is ever so slightly visible ... this is way better than D200 with the same lens.

Still the lack of ISO 100 is a bit of a concern ....!But I have that bad feeling in my stomach that I might find it very difficult to 'discipline' myself

Would love to have a D700, but my D80 is only 2 years old. Hard to justify getting a new camera already!

My D300 is only one month old....may be we don't have to justify after all.
