Berger Bros is shipping their D700's today. I just got a call and completed my order.

They are offering Saturday delivery if you are willing to pay the premium.

Thanks JCA and Larry. I paid the premium. Mine will arrive (I Hope) tomorrow by 3pm with US Mail express delivery. I can't wait. I have been reading the manual and noting my menu options that I plan to change. I'm glad I called Berger at about 1:30 as I had not heard from them on shipping out. They said that they had mine packaged up to ship and were sending it US priority mail at $40 US, which would put it here Monday; no good, as I cannot get to US Post Office before they close on weekdays, so it would be Sat. for me. (I also live 70 miles round trip from UPS and Fedex and am never home when they come by for deliveries and end up driving there quite a distance). So this is super and for me, it was worth the extra to have the camera arrive on Saturday to work with on Sunday all day, and to enjoy it, and I won't even have to drive anywhere to retrieve her. Have an extra battery coming with it. Also have a Garmin GPS unit coming and the required MC35 cord, and an AC adaptor and have the DK17m so I should be set, don't you think?
Glad to have others to share the excitement of this new DSLR with,
Debra

I'm not going to be here tomorrow, and I wasn't up to driving all that way today, so Monday for me. I have all next week to work on it.

I opted for the MB-D10 pack and I will use the BL-3 and EN-EL4a that I can borrow from my F6 when needed. I just wonder what kind of battery life I can expect with the EN-EL4a and standard battery inside? I am sure more then I would ever shoot in a day.

I will be testing it with my 85 f1.4 and 24-70 f2.8G lenses first. I also have my 70-200 f2.8G to see how bad the vignetting is. I have Capture 2.0 so will see what we can do with 14-bit RAW.

I'm pretty excited.

I'm really excited also. Funny, I was thinking the same thing as you, to test my new D700 with my Nikon 85mm f1.4 AFd lens. Also, I want to try my Nikon 24mm PCE tilt shift lens, cannot wait. If I had next week, I would have waited till Monday to receive it, but I work and commute during the week, so weekends are about all I have to shoot,
Thanks,
Debra
