I am debating upgrading to a D700 and D300 combo, and getting just one MB-D10 grip to use on either body depending on my needs.

I was wondering if the same L-bracket would work keeping it mounted to the grip, and swapping the grip between the D300 and D700? It would seem that it should, but does anyone know if there is a size difference on the sides of the 2 bodies?

Just wondering.

I have not asked, but noticed that they are different part numbers, which doesn't make sense.

I will try and contact them.

I found the answer!!

Kirk now has it posted on their web page that the BL-D300G fits both the D300 and D700 with the grip attached.

I'm doing just this, one MB-D10 on my D700 (now) with the same Kirk L-Bracket I was using on my D300. It works just fine.
