"Nikkor 200-400 and accessories. Price correction"
Tue 24-Nov-09 06:14 PM by tuka108

Due to lower back problems I can no longer manage this large lens. It was purchased in May 2007 and I stopped using it in August 2008. It is perfect condition with only a few hundred actuations. It comes with the original packing and whatever else was in the box. I am asking $5800.00 for this item. The current retail price is $6300.00 + GST & PST; More than $7000, depending on which province you live in.
Nikon 200-400mm f/4 G-AFS ED-IF VR $5800
Also in fine condition:
Wimberley Sidekick $210
Wimberley F-1 Telephoto Bracket $170
Wimberley AP-553 Replacement Foot $70
Lowepro 600 AW Lens Trekker 180
Nikon TC-20E II 2x Teleconverter $375

If all items are purchased as one lot the price is $6,500.
I am located in Montreal. Photos can be made available, and the equipment can be viewed in person.

Current price for the lens is now $6050, so I have reduced my lens price to $5500 and the package price to $6,200

Jean

YOu say nothing about the lens being protected by LensCoat or equivalent. Could you please post photos or email me at pcalamai@magma.ca

Peter,
Thanks for your comment. This lens was never used in bad weather, and so I never got around to using LensCoat. I did always carry the lens in an AW600 which is weatherproof, but I never had occasion to unfurl the 'pancho'. I have taken a snap of the lens - it's the only one in my gallery on this site; if you would like to examples of the lens capabilities have a look at this collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tuka108/sets/72157603683834289/
And in particular: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tuka108/2184534354/in/set-72157603683834289/ -which was taken with a D-200 using the 200-400 plus a Nikon TC-17E II.
I can make more pictures of the lens if that would help, but if you are interested I suggest that you view it in person.
Thanks for your interest

Jean

Hello,

I just saw your posting for the Nikon 200-400mm.

Is it still available and what is the current asking price in US dollars. (My wife will be going to Montreal in a month of two, so shipping might not be necessary).

Thanks,

Dr. Timothy Hirst
