I forgot to mention I really like the composition of the second image. It is very nicely framed and coveys depth. If I may offer a thought... Would you be able bring down the brightness of the mid ground field just a bit or add some contrast? I wonder if it would bring out additional depth between the foreground brush (leaves) and the trees. An alternative to try is to bring down the foreground brush.

Either way, its a keeper.

I see what you mean. Darkening and maybe a little contrast added to the mid ground would give it more depth. I would rather do that than darken the foreground brush.
