I just attended the D700 class in Boston with Mike Hagen as the instructor and I wasn't prepared for how good it was and just how much I learned. There wasn't any aspect of the class I would suggest be changed and I must say, it was a pleasure to sit in a class with eleven other enthusiastic Nikonians learning in the easiest style I can ever remember attending. I finally learned what it takes to set up this camera to begin to bring it and me to our potential together. I think if the class ran until 9PM, we would have all stayed. If you have a D700 and you're not as familiar with it as you feel you should be, do yourself and the camera a favor and locate a class and attend. The money spent is so worthwhile, you can not begin to imagine. I look forward to the advanced class on this great camera.
