Corel Paint Shop Pro Ultimate 6 vs Lightroom. Does one of theses stand out as a better software?

JosephK Nikonian since 17th Apr 2006Sun 02-Nov-14 01:31 PMThat is kind of a apples to oranges comparison.
Corel's PSP would be better compared to Photoshop.
I have all three software.
I use Lightroom for my whole picture editing and bulk image editing via the custom presets and what little cataloging I do.
I use PSP and Photoshop when I need layers or exacting pixel editing on a single picture. Both use the most of the same plug-ins. I like the UI of PSP better than Photoshop.
I have been a PSP user long before Corel bought it. Now that the $10/month bundle on Lightroom+Photoshop is available, I would now go that route assuming you do not oppose the software-as-subscription concept.

Shovelhead Registered since 29th Sep 2014Sun 02-Nov-14 03:18 PMThanks for your input. Started out with Corel's PSP 2, then to 5 and now using 6. Noticed that LR is referred to a lot on Nikonians was the reason for the inquiry. Nice gallery you have. Native to Washington?-

The editor in LR is basically a big wrapper around Adobe Camera Raw. When combined with the adjustment brush, it is largely all that is needed for most camera owners under most circumstances. If you need more, you can configure LR to launch any pixel editor like Photoshop or PSP. (I have both registered with LR.)
The "x" in the PSP title is actually the Roman numeral 10. Rumor has it that version 17 is now (or shortly) available; I am not is any hurry to upgrade from PSP 16.

Thanks! Since I only use this gallery for reference in posts here, I had to go back and see what was actually in it.
