I don't know if this is the right forum but my question is when shooting RAW the file will always have the aspect ration of the sensor. So if its an APS-C sensor the aspect ratio will be 3:2 a 4/3rds will be 4:3 & so on.
You can change the aspect ratio in JPG to 16.9 or whatever but in RAW how would it 'mask' the unneeded portion of the sensor.
My understanding is a RAW file is digital file of exactly what the sensor see's, right?

I have researched all the web sites I can find but there seems no definitive answer.
