"Help with Raw Processing ViewNX2"

US

I have a Nikon 3200D and have the current version of ViewNX2 installed. I am unable to edit raw images when I shoot them on auto landscape,
auto portrait and auto night portrait modes. All other auto and manual modes work. I get an error message that reads, "These images can neither be displayed as raw images or edited because optional pictures controls used are not found".
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thank you.

You probably need to reinstall the latest version of View NX2. The current version is 2.8.1

Is ViewNX2 free?

What extra do you get in CaptureNX2?

Does either one do HDR, or HDR-like merging?

Yes, View NX is free.

Capture NX is far more capable. You can make more adjustments, apply them globally or only to select parts of the image. It has ControlPoints which are almost like magic in making selections. You can batch process images. You can save different versions of your edits. You can save adjustment steps for later application to any image. Plus more...

It's like the difference between a simple 10-key calculator and a scientific calculator, except easier to use.

Neither does HDR.

Thanx.

Free is good.

Then, there's HDR specific software out there. Would like all-in-one, but don't want to go CS6.

Another good one is Photomatix. At betweeen 45 and 55, it'snot a bad deal.
