"Aperture versus LR 4"

Ottawa, CA

I am currently using the latest version of Aperture with Mountain Lion but I'm finding that the program hangs up a lot or just freezes. I don't think it's due to lack of RAM since I have 16GB in my IMac. Does anyone else have the same experience? I' m thinking of switching to LR4. Can someone who has experience with both give me their thoughts on LR4 compared with Aperture 3.2?

While I have Aperture and know to use it fairly well, I primarily use LR4 and PS CS6. I haven't seen problems with any of them on Mountain Lion other than one time that CS6 hung (easily resolved). I certainly like LR4, especially its tighter integration with PS, but also prefer its feature set. I have a Mac Pro with 16GB, an MBP with 8GB and an 11" MacBook Air with 4GB. All have Mountain Lion and run those programs fine.

If you generally like Aperture and have a good-sized library, I'd be inclined to wait a bit longer for a resolution to the problem you're seeing.
