"OnOne or Nik?"

US

I am in the thought process of a softeare bundle for my post processing. I have been looking at both the Nik bundle and the OnOne Suite 6. Has anyone used one or both of the bundles and is one really better then the other? They look to do many of the same things, and several different ones with a pretty large price difference. Thoughts? Advice?

I have version 5.5.3 of the OnOne suite and have purchased the upgrade to version 6 which is scheduled for release at the end of October. If you are interested in reading my review of version 5 you can find it here:

I'm mostly interested in the new Perfect Portrait and whether there will be an update to Perfect Resize 7. Most of the plug-ins are very useful and have been improving steadily. I don't have the Nik package but from what I see on their website their plug-ins are not at all like those of OnOne.

I have both, and echo Ernesto's comments. The components of each package are really competely different in their purpose.

The trial versions are a great way to figure out what you will actually use.

I also own both and use both frequently. Each has something just a little bit different to offer. I understand the new Nik package will include U-point controls and the ability to work with multiple filters in one window. Just gets better and better

Just to throw an wrench in your planning, I have also looked at a package of actions called Totally Rad. They look like a lot of fun and seem easy to use. I just don't need another package of actions!

Happy buying!
