"Combining presentation of photos and sound"

NL

Hi all,
Perhaps this question doesn't belong in this forum, but didn't know where to else to post it. Need advice from someone good with computers and making presentations. I want to make a presentation to be run through a beamer with six fotos plus one or two starting pages with text. I want to have sound for each foto, ie different sounds for each foto. The presentation need to run by itself, ie I shouldn't have to 'click' on a key for reach foto. I have a mac with the window office package (ie also power point). I have no idea how to do this, but thought that power-point might be the easiest (don't have in-design or similar; only PS and the windows package, and I presume Keynote which I have never used). Some of the soundbites I will download from the internet, and one or two I need to record (but don't know how yet). I have 4 days (ie four evenings to do this); the fotos are taken, edited and ready - still need to get the soundbites. The whole thing doesn't need to be longer than that you get to have a good look at each foto (3-4 minutes max, in total)

Can anyone out there help me out, or push me in the right direction?
Thanks a million!
Anette

Pro Show Gold by Photodex is an excellent tool for what you are describing but because it does have a somewhat formidable learning curve I would not recommend it because of your short delivery time. But for future products you should really look into it, you can do some really cool stuff with this program. Although Photodex doesn't offer a Mac version it is fully compatible with an Intel Mac running Boot Camp.

I no longer have a Mac, but it seems like you just want to do a simple slide show. Check out iPhoto, which comes on every Mac.

Thanks for the advice. In the end I just used powerpoint for the slides and Audacity for the sound, and put the two together. Audacity is a programme that is free to download, exports the final sound as mp3:s - and I found it fairly easy to learn, quite intuitive I must say. Worked out well!
