I am just beginning to scan, process and print my slides and negatives. My equipment is a Nikon LS-4000 scanner, Photoshop 7 and an Epson 2200. I am having trouble getting my printed output colors to match my monitor. Is it necessary to purchase a Spyder or similar optical system to profile my monitor? Are there other (less expensive) ways to do the same thing? I DO want good color control and will do what it takes to get there but I would welcome some advice on the best way to go about this. Thanks.
