"My weekend plans, how about yours?"
Thu 24-Jan-13 05:17 AM by laddad

Kinston, NC, US

I have been helping a widow liquidate some of her deceased husband's gear. Last Sunday she asked if could get rid of two large boxes of photography gear in her bonus room. One box was a Speedtron Blackline power supply (2400 watts/sec) and the other was a case with three flash heads, three light stands, three shoot through umbrellas, three reflecting umbrellas and several spare flash & modeling bulbs. I explained to her what they were. She said that they are mine now and she was glad get some space back in her home. One persons trash is another persons treasure! It seems to work well. A connecting cord to interface with my Pocket Wizard should be here tomorrow from B & H. There goes my weekend! How will you spend your weekend?

Probably green with envy from your score.

Just kidding, I know you have put a lot of your free time and a lot of effort helping this lady and what she gave you is well deserved. I'll probably spend my weekend sorting out and photographing some photo bags that I do not use anymore and plan to put up for sale.

You must have a lot of bags if it will take your whole weekend!

Sssssh, Mick. If I don't occupy my time working slowly I'll get saddled with the honey-do's.

Thank god I no longer have space to set up a nice studio with toys like that! Wow! Nice find! I've noticed your For Sale posts for the lady; her husband had quite a settup!

Given the snow forecast, I'll stay indoors and maybe play with multiple flash. I need a good subject (wife won't), like the bust of David that HBB has…

Congrats!

Me, I've got a lot of work to do...

An undeniable paradox: To think that there is any such thing as an absolute rule is at worst naïve, and at best, shortsighted. There is no such thing as an always-true, all context- or situation-salient, absolute rule that always holds true…including this one!
