"Steve McCurry shoots last roll of Kodachrome"
Thu 17-Jan-13 12:58 AM by rutherfordphoto

Vancouver, CA

A video was released earlier this week documenting Steve McCurry and his journey to photograph the last ever roll of Kodachrome. For those of you who don't know, Steve is an amazing photographer who just happened to use Nikon equipment while travelling the world shooting National Geographic after National Geographic story. I've been a fan of his for since I was a teenager and this documentary almost makes me want to go out and buy a film camera. Enjoy

I won't miss waiting a week or more for the slides, but I will miss the opening the box and seeing what I got -- more often than not the results were great (not my photos, but the Kodachrome results).

I started with Kodachrome-10 back in the early 60s (or maybe it was late 50s), then 64 and a few years ago, 200. All were great.

I loved the video, I will likely watch it more than once.

Thanx for posting, interesting video. But did anyone else notice that, at 03:33, THE LAST roll of Kodachrome was loaded into an F100, and at 03:45 the back was closed on an F6?!

Looks like he picked up an F100, but already by 3:37 you can see that he's loading it into an F6... interested, would be interested to know what happened there.

I watched this and it made cry!

I was wishing there was still a chance for us all to shoot just one last roll!
