I have noticed more people playing around with the digital art aspect of photography..and the Abstract Gallery is where it is getting posted.A few in the photo sharing forums also. Maybe it's time we either added a digital art gallery and/or forum or at the very least changed a gallery name to include it?
Do most people view abstract photography as just anything that doesnt fit neatly into another posted catagory? Or should we keep trying to 'catagorize'?

I like that kind of photography, would enjoy a gallery of that sort on Nikonians, and might even post a photo to it now and again. A downside, though, is that there are already many underutilized forums under the "Master Your Vision" heading. Many current forums will have perhaps one new post a week, or sometimes even fewer, so I can see an argument for consolidating them rather than adding another one. When you keep checking in on a forum and there's nothing new there, it gives you less of an incentive to go back.

So, one question to ask is: How many regular contributors would the forum have to sustain it?

I also think a forum might be more than is needed. Maybe just to change the Abstract Photography gallery title to "abstract and Digital Art photography" for now? The 'heading' abstract has it's own gallery but not it's own forum..At least it might help new members and also guarge how much interest there is in Digital art..I myself like to dabble with it.
