"Why are the other camp so intimidated by the D800"

Since there isn't much chatter going on while we wait for the shipment of the FX cameras, I thought of spying a bit to see what the other camp are discussing. Very entertaining from what I read. It's nice to be on the dark side.

Once you are done with that, try this one.

I personally couldn't care less what Canon shooters are saying or doing. I haven't take the time to read the thread you pointed to. I can guarantee you however that there has been just as much, if not more, whining on here regarding new Canon offerings in the past with "I am jumping to Canon" comments, etc. I do not need to go to another site to see a bunch of silliness when I have seen just as much silliness displayed here on Nikonians in the past. The Us vs. them mentality is silly as well.

That is about right. I find it very amusing.

This is the answer from Canon, I have not read your links, if a duplicate, I'll erase.

I believe that Stan has mentioned over time about Canon's overstated specs, not being as or equal once the machine are in use.

Rob- the link that you've provided is different and I've seen it also on the POTN website. I think there are some who were used to the higher MP that Canon offers with the 5D MkII before and now they are being offered with the slightly lower MP of the 5Dx.

The reason why I ended up wondering around is that I have the D4 on pre-order and there isn't much to talk about until the D800 or D4 arrives on our doorsteps.

Glenn,

The cameras will certainly have their pros and cons, I have deposits on both, still to determine how or if both can be acquired and or if needed.

I have the D3S for stellar stills in low light, so we will see.

Thanks for the thread regardless, it's a curious world we live in technically.
