Has anyone ever had problems posting images to Facebook? I never have until yesterday, when every attempt failed with a message about invalid file format.

I was uploading a full res jpeg, then tried lower resolutions. I even tried with several different browsers, and uploading from my Macbook, as well, with no luck. I cleared the cache of all browsers.

Really weird, not to mention frustrating!

Well, for some reason it just started working again. Weird!

I tend not to post anything bigger than 600 pixels and 150 kb at FB. It speeds loading time on mobile devices using cellular networks.

I have seen that their servers sometimes have problems then work a short while later. Probably doing upgrades to their servers.

Phil, interesting. My wife was uploading from ViewNX for the last year or so and suddenly last week the photos have been refused. I'll have to ask her exactly what msg. she is getting but she is not happy. A full res/sized from her Samsung Galaxy mobile (5MP, I think) goes instantly!

Edit: My wife just came in so she told me that she goes to the browse box , selects the photo , opens and then nothing happens...no uploading symbol. I told her to try it now and see if it is working

Edit 2 So I took a trip upstairs to my wife's den...spent an hour trying different browser and not a VNX file (no go) then checked her Adobe Flash... not there! Downloaded the latest and yup, it worked. Not sure if that was the problem , or the random glitch, but she now can post. No idea where here adobe went !

I was doing a picture-a-day thing last year on Facebook and I continually ran into problems. Not every day, but probably at least once a month the photo uploader would change or my browser would update itself or nothing visible at all would change and suddenly uploading wouldn't work correctly. Right now I'm finding that sometimes it will show me the image preview after uploading and sometimes it won't. I just curse and swear and wave my fists at the screen and usually a day or two later it behaves again for a while.

Having said that, the only time I've seen a file format error is when I was helping a friend who couldn't upload scans. She was trying to upload bmps, I believe, and at the time Facebook would only take jpegs.
