"Please explain the "Add to my friends" function"

Hate to admit I don't know but when you go to somebody's profile, there is a "Add to my Friends" at the top. If you click on it, you have to send an email to get on their friend list.

Question, What does this do. What is the advantage of friends list and how does it work? I looked on Wiki and the FAQ but didn't find anything. Did a search for "friends" LOL! at the resulting list.

Nikonians is the Smithsonian of Nikon knowledge. If there is a question they can't answer, I want to see the question.

It adds them to your Friends tab in your profile. It's just an easy way to keep track of friends you have met within the Nikonians Forums and is a simple Rolodex for sending emails and private Nikonians messages. Just add someone as a Friend, click the "My Profile" link up near your user name (top right) and then select the "Friends" tab and you'll see them added.
