"Nikon caught(?) in ploy using celebrity interview for free advertisement"

DeLand, Florida, US

This is interesting in a way. Nikon was using a celebrity, Kim Cattrall, to subliminally hawk a digital camera during interviews that were suppose to be regarding her series on HBO and not related to photography. At least one network, MSNBC terminated the interview, when they realized the ploy.

I guess it is true what they say... "Sex in the city" sells.

What? You mean the press folks were more interested in Kim Cattrall than her digital camera? Perhaps she wasn't holding it chest high...

Strange that the MSNBC cared. I mean, is it any worse then a sports star being interviewed with Nike on their hat, shirt, shoes, etc., or auto manufacturers paying to have their cars used in moves, TV shows, etc.? How about Hollywood stars using interviews to rant and rave about their own personal crusades?

Sex does sell….

Ramon, I found I often do the same way. Either we both are great photographers or we are not young enough

Cheers!

Just a few more years and I know I will be able to do nude photography as I will then pose no threat whatsoever.

Man, I wished I have seen that. I mean, a NIKON on TV! That must have been cool. BTW, who is this Kim Catrall anyway?

Well I just saw an F5 on TV equipped with the 80-200 AF-S at a tornado site in Nebraska. Problem is it appeared that the photographer was trying to load the camera when the video camera panned across the area. The F5 is an easy camera body to spot.

As for Kim Cattrall….she is one of the stars of “Sex and the City,” need I say more?
