Hi Ken, I am truly very interested to hear what you think of this. Please share your thoughts after using it for a couple of weeks...
I pushed the boat out almost exactly two years ago, and bought an Epic Pro. As an engineer as well as a photographer who actually designed one of the very first panorama robotic mounts, I was extremely disappointed by the poor mechanical design (sloppy gearing being the worst example).
In fact, I'm within a couple of days of dismantling the Epic Pro, trying to improve the sloppy gearing, throwing out GigaPan's controller and putting my own electronics into it to make it a wirelessly controllable P&T head for use on a crane for video work.
Two years ago GigaPan was not receptive to my helpful comments about their unit which, IMHO came nowhere even close to justifying the qualifier "Pro" in its name.
I HONESTLY wish you success with your unit and look forward to seeing examples of your work with it.
