"AR - Dual cable release"

colombo, LK

Hi ALL,
Early this morning, I set up my kit for some macro work. The AR - 10 Dual cable release and MC - 25 are recent acquisitions never used before. After some back breaking activity I made a final check for Depth of field. I was a bit put off to see the subject moving in the viewfinder each time I handled the cable release. The movement was not caused by wind . I then realised that it was camera shake.
My setup consisted of PB-6 Bellows on minimum extension,PK13 tube,F100,60mm micro with PK 11A, AR 10 Dual cable release, MC 25,Benbo Tripod with Double Ball head, and focus slide. I then removed the AR 10 and MC25, replacing them with the OLD single cable release and the MC-30 remote release. NO camera shake. Presumably because the Single Cable release could be locked in the stopped down position and the MC 30 fired after allowing a few seconds for the system to stabilise. Could it be that I am not using the AR 10 Dual Cable release correctly. Does any AR -10 user know of a better way. Shall be grateful for your advice.

CHEERS
LAMIN
