"A couple of recent captures"

Simsbury, US

A dragonfly and a skipper from recent outings. The dragonfly is a female Slaty Skimmer recently emerged, wings are still moist.

The skipper is an 8 frame stack of a European Skipper. It started to rain right after I shot this. This meadow always has a lot of these skippers in early to mid June.

Fantastic images, John. A few dust or oil spots in #1 and a single one in #2. I think the camera resolution really shows these up more readily than before. I noticed a few spots on some bug images I recently took that weren't visible on my bird images shot at F4 to F7.1.

Thanks Rick.

Yep I'll have to look more closely for those spots. I did catch them on some earlier images, should've been more careful with these.

Wonderful photos, as usual. I especially like the wing highlights in number 1.

Thanks Wasil.

I was fortunate to find her not long after she emerged so she was not very active and had that nice sheen on her wings.
